After their albums "Szakadék szélén" and "4.14," GHP has unveiled their newest release, "Hold." Featuring vocalist Vivien Nádasi and rappers Tamás Holczreiter and Alexander Mayhew, this album delves into themes of escape and refuge, enriched with profound, multi-layered, and symbolic lyrics. We spoke with Alexander for more insights.

"The track 'Hold' narrates the story of a young man who, one day, bids farewell to his girlfriend and loved ones, leaving everything behind to live on the Moon. The world's noise became overwhelming for him; he seeks solace on the Moon," Alexander shared.

He continued, "The song 'Nem felejtem' reflects on our past decade, emphasizing that we haven't forgotten our roots or those we started with. We feel it's our duty to carry the essence of hip-hop from the Bodrogköz and Ung regions. We hope 'Játék' becomes a major hit, as that's our intention. The lyrics are deep, and the themes are far from ordinary.

For instance, our new song 'Baj,' directed by Mr. Andreas, had to be censored because some platforms wouldn't feature us otherwise. With this track, we stepped out of our comfort zone both musically and visually," he detailed, adding that they've received overwhelmingly positive feedback since the album's release last week.

"Recently, someone congratulated us at the store checkout. The album took six months to complete, featuring tracks from two years ago alongside brand-new ones.

The oldest song, 'Sötét szobámból,' was created six years ago, but I'd love to include it on all our albums. It's my personal manifesto," Alex confessed.

"Hold" is set to be released on CD next year, alongside GHP's previous two albums, as a triple album. Work on their fourth album is already underway.

"It's been a good year, with over thirty concerts and exciting video shoots. Tommy became a father. We performed at the Várlak Festival in Fülek, and now the album is out.

We've been on the move a lot. We've had our disagreements and reconciliations, felt exhausted—just like any proper band. We're working on new songs and stage designs. There are things I can't discuss yet, but you'll see the results on TV this winter. The main focus remains songwriting, ensuring our music holds value both here and in Hungary," concluded Mayhew Alexander, also known as the solo rapper Verzál.
